It's time for the next Take Your Pick installment

For those of you who don't know what TYP is, it's simply that the designers agreed on a color palette and then worked on creating small pieces using those colors. Then YOU get to pick from your favorite elements, papers, alphas, and extras to make your kit any way you want it.

Here's this month's great palette:

I decided to make a small element set. The palette just screamed spring is coming! (Although it's been coming for several months now, what a crazy winter). So I tried to make some light, soft elements.

A New Alpha

I hope you've been enjoying my "I Know my ABCs" collection of products. Sometimes a new alpha can just bring that breath of fresh air to a layout. Here's my newest addition to the collection:

Unfortunately I have no samples to show you. Many of the members of my CT have been busy with real lives this week and didn't have time. (Real life always comes before any responsibility to me in scrapping), and I myself had a mini scare this week. My youngest daughter is 2 1/2. And this week (Sunday evening) I was carrying her down the stairs and I ended up slipping and sliding almost the whole way down the stair case. Luckily, I was cradling my daughter as I carried her so I took the brunt of everything and I was sliding more on the side that was her legs than on her head. I myself am just bruised up pretty badly. My head hit every. single. step. on the way down. And my bottom has the worst bruise I've ever seen. My elbow, ankle, and back are a little sore too. But my baby, at 2 1/2, won't walk or even stand now. I hope that it's just soft tissue and is just slowly healing, but we can't seem to figure out what's going on; whether she's just scared to use her legs or if there's something really wrong. We've been to the doctors twice already this week. Yesterday we got several x-rays done that didn't really show anything obviously wrong. She has been testing herself a little bit more, so I hope that's a good sign. And we also had to swing by AAA to register our cars and she was crawling all over the place, which she hasn't been doing at home. It's almost like she forgot crawling was even an option.

this one uses Venice Vibes, January's Collab kit and was part of the Progressive Scrap Challenge

This one uses CU items by Happy Scrap Girl and Chelle's Creations (it's a grab bag for a short time). So even if you don't want to design, you can always buy CU stuff and create your own special goodies customized for your photo. (And I just realized I had already scrapped this series of photos, so now I need to decide which one I like more). Grab Bag

So, it's been quite a while for me. I hope you've been waiting patiently. I'm sorry I fell of the face of the Earth. Almost 3 months ago, I moved. We had been living in Utah, but a job opportunity opened up for us back *home* and we couldn't resist. We gave ourselves 6 weeks to get there, so that meant a lot of packing, driving a caravan of a camper, a pick up truck, and a moving van 2000 miles, living in a camper for about 2 months, finding a house, and now unpacking. We're mostly unpacked and are enjoying our new location. But I have a few new things to share with you all. I'm working at making a quick comeback and already have some things in the works, including an exclusive FB freebie for my fans there. (Just look up Key of D Designs on FB). So, what do I need to tell you? Lots and lots, so settle in for a quick look at what's going on in November...

Here's a few things you won't wanna miss....

So, DRS is having a big birthday bash...have you been yet? You have to check it out. Lots of fun and games.

On Monday, we'll be having a staff blog train where you can pick up clusters, QP, and stacked papers, and maybe some nice hybrid goodies too! But it starts on Monday. So make sure you check here on my blog, or HERE at the DRS site.

In High School, I was a runner. It has been over 10 years since I last really run, and yet every March I remember in my mind that track season would have started. And every year after my birthday (in August), I remember that cross country training would have begun. So, I decided to make a kit all about running.

So, although I've picked up designing, I still try to get my scrapping done. This week, I have 2!!

This month, we've started a new challenge. A progressive scrap challenge. The great thing about this challenge is that, unlike the Speed Scraps that are all the rage, you scrap slowly. Getting a few pieces at a time and it literally only has to take like 5 minutes a day to get your layout ready. It runs for 5 days at a time, and we're planning on it becoming monthly. This month's has already ended, but when you participate, you get put in for a chance to win a $9 certificate at Digiridoo. This is the layout I made, using the monthly collab Time for Tea.

I've doing a Scrap For Hire service for quite a while, but I finally now just actually started advertising it in the store. You can check it out in the store or on my s4h blog. Same information, just 2 places. And you could possibly find discounts in one or the other. This service also includes invitations, holiday cards, albums, etc. (But it isn't all for $5...that would require additional payment...)

You may notice that I have been posting freebies directly on my blog. This is deliberate and is because there are a whole boatload of piracy problems. People like to take the free items and repost them, change their names, and as such the designers do not get credit. I think that by adding the extra hassle of having to go through a store, piracy will lessen (for me, I am not naive enough to think that my one thing will kill the piracy). Enjoy!
